| This watercolor of Peteetneet School was painted by Charles Colley in 1968 when he was passing through Payson. He painted it for his mother, Nevada Christensen Colley (now deceased). She was born in Payson and attended Peteetneet about 1915. She was always proud of her school. She went on to become a registered nurse and practiced many years in Los Angeles. She defintely quailifed as a Daugher of Pioneers and was a faithful member of the LDS Church. The painting was donated by her son, Fred Colley. | This oil painting, "Salem Pond", was painted in 1971 by Della W. McClellan. Mrs. McClellan taught for many years at Peteetneet School. Her classroom was located in what is now the Victorian Room. She went on to become a Nebo School District Elementary Supervisor. She painted this piece as a wedding gift for L. Dee and Julie Stevenson. The Stevenson's donated the painting because they felt that it should hang in the permanent collection at Peteetneet to honor this outstanding educator who gave so much of herself to Peteetneet and her many students over the years. |
